Devils 0 Capitals 1 (League Game)

7th February 2010

Edinburgh recorded their first Elite League shut out since 13th January 2008 when they beat Nottingham 3-0 at home. This one though makes a piece of history for the Edinburgh club as it’s their first ever on the road.

The only goal of the game came at 28.20 as Mark Garside assisted Owen Fussey (29th) to put them in the history books with their first blanking on their travels.

Both goaltenders had a huge part to play in the game with Stevie Lyle facing 26 shots for the loss of only the one goal. Whilst Cody Rudkowsky turned away 38 shots to record his shut out.

The other main talking point in the game was Cardiff’s Ryan Finnerty being assessed a game misconduct then a match penalty for travesty of the game right on the final buzzer. He had earlier received a 10 minute misconduct penalty in the 46th minute.
