Capitals fans make the return of Sean Perkins possible

Edinburgh Capitals fans have clubbed together to allow the team to sign Sean Perkins for the remainder of the season. Due to budget constraints it would have not have been possible bring another player in but a campaign led by the Supporters Club has raised enough money for his wages, flights and associated registration costs.

Doug Christiansen, Edinburgh Capitals coach, commented, "I am humbled by the efforts of everyone involved especially Jim McCrae who heads up the Edinburgh Capitals Supporters Club.

"I have stated before that is the fans team. It truly is. We are fortunate to have the best fans in the Elite League. I cannot thank each of them personally but please be assured that our team is grateful for your support.

"We have a special group of men this year and I am honoured to coach them. I hope everyone welcomes Sean back! Let's make 2010 the best in franchise history!" 

Sean Perkins played for the Capitals during the 08/09 season where he had 15 points from 6 goals and 9 assists. All the paperwork has been processed and he will be flying in today and playing in both home games against the Sheffield Steelers this weekend.
