Benadik returns

Benadik returns

Edinburgh Capitals would like to announce the re-signing of Michal Benadik for the coming season. Michal is A strong stay at home defenseman and at 6’3” he is not easily pushed around. After a slow start last season he soon became a fan favourite for many as he showed true determination and greatly improved as the season went along.

He is looking forward to improving even more under the coaching of Richard Hartmann. Benadik commented, “I am very happy to be coming back to Edinburgh. Last season was a big step up for me after playing in Romania and it took me some time to get settled into the fast pace of the Elite League, I have been working very hard with my summer training and I am looking forward to learning more from Richard this season. I want to get back on the ice and start where we finished off.”

Michal becomes the 7th returning import from last seasons squad and Richard Hartmann commented, "Michal gave me a lot as a player last year and I know exactly what I am getting.  He became a consistent performer and is a good player to coach and be around the dressing room. I am pleased to get so many returning players as it should help the team.  We are looking to add our top players to the squad shortly and I am concentrating on players that can give us the sort of performances we enjoyed last year.

Edinburgh Capitals have home exhibitions games on Sunday 1st September 6pm v Hull Stingrays and Tuesday 3rd September 8pm v Dundee Stars.
