Richard Hartmann signs on for season 13/14

Edinburgh Capitals have agreed terms to keep Richard Hartmann as player coach for the 2013/14 season. Richard and his family have settled well in the Edinburgh area and we have being greatly impressed with the contribution he has made to the club.

Matthew Tailford said, "We all have great confidence in what Richard can achieve and I hope the fans of Edinburgh Capitals will back this move by showing strong support for Richard and the team in the push for the playoffs and the 2013/14 season."

Scott Neil commented, "In many ways Richard is the perfect player coach for Edinburgh, not just from the quality of his play, but also from the knowledge, experience and ethos that he brings to the club and team. He is a coach who believes in development and is keen to work on that aspect to produce quality Edinburgh players for the future. Richard has gained the respect of all at the club and we are keen to all work hard to provide as good a platform as possible for Richard to develop the team into the 13/14 season.  For players who are willing to work hard and listen, I have every confidence that Richard can help make even experienced players better hockey players and he is a great role model who sets a good example and standard to our up and coming squad.  When we play well and are on top form, we play some of the best hockey that will be seen in any rink in the Elite League.  A big thanks must also go to long term sponsor 'Gary Henderson Tiling' for being the corporate sponsor for Richard Hartmann."

Richard Hartmann said, "I am pleased to be able to continue to work in Edinburgh and improve the squad and results going forward.  I have very much enjoyed the City and coaching and playing with the Capitals and I am enthused by the reaction and increase of the fans to the recent good run of results.  I think we can develop something significant here and I am hoping fans, sponsors and the City can buy into what we have and can achieve in the future."
